Al-Alamiya to broadcast national football matches

The Information Affairs Ministry has signed an agreement with the Al-Alamiya media and advertising company to broadcast the matches of HM the King’s Football Cup and those of the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League for the new season.

The agreement is in line with the Information Ministry’s keenness to highlight Bahraini sports, in general, and football, in particular, and based on the directives of HM the King’s Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in this regard.

Information Affairs Minister, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, and President of the Bahrain Football Association (BFA), Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, attended the signing ceremony. Under the agreement, signed by the Assistant Undersecretary for Radio and Television Affairs, Abdulla Khalid Al-Dossary, and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Al-Alamiya company, Badr bin Saleh bin Saraa, Al-Alamiya will transmit football matches in Bahrain with high-resolution cameras that are similar to those used in filming and broadcasting the most famous European leagues.

Commenting, the Information Minister stressed that the agreement represents a quantum leap in the transmission of sports events in Bahrain, expressing his delight at the signing of the agreement which, he said, will contribute to the development of youth Bahraini technical competencies and give special momentum to the Bahraini sports competitions through professional broadcasting, in light of the landmark achievements attained in this field thanks to the directives of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad, and support of the First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS and President of the Bahrain Olympic Commitee, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
