Kooheji details training ahead of homecoming fight
Bantamweight contender and Bahrain hero Hamza Kooheji has the biggest fight of his life ahead of him, as he is one of the biggest attractions of the historic BRAVE CF 29, which will take the Kingdom of Bahrain by storm on November 15th, at the Khalifa Sports City Arena. The Bahraini star takes on Argentina’s Nahuel Gandolfi in the co-main event and is training hard for his comeback bout.
Kooheji has yet to fight this year as he spent most of 2019 improving his overall mixed martial arts game, and traveled to the United States for training sessions at Fortis MMA, alongside former BRAVE CF champion Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady. Riding a two-fight win streak, “The Pride of Bahrain” is keen on improving and moving towards a title shot, and has detailed his training in a special vlog poster on social media.
“People think that you’ll be good if you train for longer periods, but the fight itself is only for 15 minutes. At that time, you need to give everything. Today’s training was short and hard. When you train you also need to give everything. Some people only give 50%, others 30%, and some 100%.
That’s the difference for fighters (in regards to success)”. Hamza will be joined by his compatriot Hussain Ayyad, who takes on Matis Zaharovs from Latvia, as the Bahraini representatives in a stellar fight card, with 18 nations represented in 15 bouts for BRAVE CF 29, the flagship event for BRAVE Combat Federation, the Middle East’s largest sports media property
