BTA, Sparta compete in Team Tennis Challenge Cup

Teams from Bahrain Tennis Academy (BTA) and Sparta Tennis competed in the Team Tennis Challenge Cup competition, held at the Dilmun Club, Saar. The meeting between the two academies featured eight eight-and-under players from each team. Each competitor played short matches against all opposition players in their age group.

At the end of proceedings, BTA won the Challenge Cup back from Sparta, scoring 36 points to Sparta’s 28 points. BTA team captain, Niall Darwish, was presented the Team Tennis Challenge Cup by the Vice President of the Bahrain Tennis Federation, Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Mubarak Al Khalifa.

‘Player of the Meet’ medals were also awarded to the most outstanding player from each team. BTA Director, Dan Barrie, awarded the medal for the Sparta team to Lukas Bhilotra, while Sparta Senior Coach, Simon Bourner, awarded the medal for the BTA team to Keagan Fernandes.
