Al Hawaj Cup up for the taking in main race at REHC
Eight horses will be competing for the Al Hawaj Cup today in the seventh and main race of the day at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club in Riffa. The event, to be held over a 2,000m distance, offers a prize purse of BD3,000.
The horses entered include Tonabrocky owned by Al Asayel Racing, New Show owned by Victorious, Port Dougles of Al Hassanain Sydicate, Saajid of Shamtoot Syndicate, Tamerlane of Al Mohamediya Racing, Lugano of Al Mallah Syndicate, Happy Call owned by Shaikh Isa bin Duaij bin Salman bin Mubarak Al Khalifa and Born to Boom owned by Ali Saeed Salman.
Six other races will be taking place. The sixth race for the Ebrahim bin Saad Al Romaihi Cup will be over a distance of 1,600m with a prize of BD2,000. There are 14 horses taking part. The fifth race is also for the Al Hawaj Cup. It is over 1,400m in distance with a prize of BD2,000 and six horses taking part.
Race number four is also over 1,400m with a BD2,000 prize amount. Ten horses are competing. The third race of the day for the Al Wasmiya Cup will be contested over a 1,000m straight with a BD1,500 prize. Ten horses are taking part.
Race Two will see 13 horses battling it out over a 1,200m straight for BD2,000 in prize money. The first race of the day will be over 2,000m with BD2,000 in prizes. Thirteen horses will be competing in the event.
