ISB badminton tournament receives record entries

ISB Brain Craft International Bahrain Junior Ranking Circuit 2020 received a record number of entries as the matches began on Thursday. There were 208 entries in various categories with 129 players in total.

Ministry of Information Affairs Asst. Undersecretary and BBSF Vice President Abdulla A Al Balooshi declared the match open. The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) in association with Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation (BBSF) is conducting the major ranking tournament this year with an aim to develop the sport in the Kingdom.

ISB Chairman Prince S Natarajan, Secretary Saji Antony, EC Member- Sports Rajesh MN, EC Member-Finance Binu Mannil Varughese, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier, Arab Badminton Federation Secretary General Jaffer Ebrahim, Muhammad Hussain Malim, S Inyayadulla, and Physical Education Teacher and tournament manager CM Junith attended the ceremony.

The Junior Ranking Circuit 2020 will continue till January 27, 2020. The ranking will be given separately to boys and girls in the under 9, 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 singles and doubles events. This is the first Badminton tournament to be held in the recently refurbished ISB badminton courts.
