Strongest GCC Man Championship qualifiers commence in Riyadh

The Organising Committee of the Strongest GCC Man Championship launched the first qualifiers round for the finals in Riyadh. This comes after HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee approved the dates of the championship which will be held under HH’s patronage next April near Bahrain International Circuit.

The event is part of HH Shaikh Khalid’s sporting initiatives and the proceeds raised by the championship will be dedicated to supporting cancer patients. The qualifiers were held at “Waqt Al Riyadah GYM” (Sports Time GYM) in Riyadh and witnessed great competitions.

Commenting on the event, Ahmed Al Shaikh, President of the Organising Committee of the championship and Director of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Media Office said: “This championship is in line with the vision of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa that aims to enable sports to serve the youth in a way that enhances the bonds of brotherhood, love and communication and supports the relations between the people of the Gulf states as well as strengthen the bridges of cooperation and partnerships that contribute to promoting the efforts of the Gulf states in the area of sport.

We have begun on the right foot with our preparations to make the qualifiers of the championship, which is taking place for the first time in this region, a huge success as per the directives of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.”

It’s worth noting that three other qualifiers will be organised including in Kuwait on February 15, 2020, in UAE on February 22, 2020, while it will be decided at a later stage the date on which the qualifiers will take place in Oman.
