The Organising Committee of the Strongest GCC Man has held the fifth round of the qualifiers in Oman.

The previous qualifiers took place in Bahrain, Saudi, Kuwait and Dubai Oman's qualifiers were organised at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex here and witnessed wide-scale participation from sportspeople in the country.

The event featured three competitions including torso lifting, farmer walk and car lifting. It's worth noting that the finals will take place in Bahrain in April under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Bahrain Olympic Committee President. The championship is part of HH Shaikh Khalid's sport and humanitarian initiatives. The funds that will be raised in the event will be dedicated to supporting cancer patients.

“The registration period witnessed active interaction from young people in the GCC who were interested in competing in the qualifiers. The knock-out stage was hugely successful thanks to the participation of many sportspeople from across the GCC. Now our main focus is on the main event which will be a unique experience for sportspeople in the GCC region. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa instructed to hold the event because he is keen to support sportspeople and sports in this area and encourage them to practice fitness and weightlifting sports," Secretary of the Registration Committee Mr Abdullah Al Sayas said.

"Holding the qualifiers in various countries required us to double our efforts and we are happy with the outcome. I would like to thank HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his directives to hold the event," he further added.
