BBA postpones Cup and league games again

The Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) announced yesterday the postponement of all games in both the 2020 Khalifa bin Salman Cup and the 2019/2020 Zain Bahrain Basketball League, until further notice. The rescheduling comes as a surprise as it was issued just days after a set of new dates for the competition were revealed, and it came just hours ahead of a pair of Cup clashes.

Two crucial knockout games were scheduled to be held in the Khalifa bin Salman Cup yesterday. At 5.45pm, Al Ahli were to go head-to-head with Bahrain Club followed at 7.30pm by Al Hala set to face Nuwaidrat.

Then, today, a pair of massive match-ups between last year’s semi-finalists were scheduled, with Muharraq facing Isa Town and a titanic clash between Manama and Cup holders Riffa. The Zain Bahrain Basketball League was set to play its Golden Square semi-finals with a pair of best-of-three series.

The opener was originally scheduled for Sunday next week, while Game Two was to be held on March 18. The decisive third game, if necessary, had been scheduled for March 23. The first series is between Manama and Riffa while the other is between Ahli and defending league champions Muharraq
