First Bundesliga player tests positive
Frankfurt
Paderborn defender Luca Kilian has tested positive for coronavirus, becoming the first infected Bundesliga player.
The announcement came hours after the German Football League (DFL) postponed this weekend's Bundesliga and second division and is set to suspend them until April 2 due to the coronavirus, Deutsche press agency (dpa) reported.
The league had initially approved the weekend matches to be played behind closed doors, but developments Friday led to all the fixtures being called off.
Germany now joins England, Spain, Italy and France of Europe's leading leagues in calling off their programmes.
