New works at Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club

Maintenance and new construction works are underway at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club.

The projects will improve the sport of horse and equestrian and strengthen the infrastructure that enables Bahrain to host international competitions and events.

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf said the projects are within the framework of the continuous interest and efforts made by the ministry and close co-operation with various ministries and governmental and non-governmental bodies alike.

Among the major projects is the construction of a horse quarantine area, horse academy and swimming pool.

A horse training and a new horse walkway are also being done, in addition to preparing designs and tender documents for the construction of two additional quarries, and designs for the construction of eight new horse stables and an administrative building.

It also includes a room for feeding horses within each quarry, and the addition of new external metal doors outside the building.

In addition to establishing an area for washing and cleaning horses and also a horse scale, works are to be done to provide each quarry with the necessary accessories.

Two companies, Dar Al Khaleej Trading and Contracting and Saraya Contracting, are doing renovations on the main entrance and horse landing area.

The total cost of this project is BD236,425. Works have already started in April and the target date of completion is set for this month.

The ministry is following up the implementation of the development work of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club under the supervision of Fast and Safe Maintenance Services Company.
