BRAVE Combat Federation, the Bahrain-based Mixed Martial Arts promotion founded by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, was bound for greatness since its inception.

Even before completing three years of operations, the fastest-growing MMA promotion in the world had already set significant milestones and achieved honours, which were not equalled even by decades-old organizations.

In 2019, BRAVE Combat Federation reserved a newly minted KHK World Championship Belt as the grand prize of a one-night, four-men, open weight knockout tournament, which was held in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The structure, which was once a cornerstone of Mixed Martial Arts, enabled BRAVE Combat Federation to establish the best fighter in the world, regardless of weight class.

“The KHK World Championship Belt was in fact the most prestigious prize in the history of combat sports. The belt, made of 6.2kg of pure gold, surpassed other traditional sports trophies, such as the FIFA World Cup and the Wimbledon Tennis Grand Slam trophy,” a report in the MMA publication LockerRoom stated.

“With an open call to every single fighter in the world, regardless of his or her weight class or being signed with other promotions, BRAVE CF narrowed down the contestants to the following four warriors: Mohammed Fakhreddine, Kleber Orgulho, Azamat Murzakanov, and Guto Inocente,” the report added.

The tournament delivered in spectacular fashion as Fakhreddine knocked Kleber out in their bout and Azamat Murzakanov defeated Guto Inocente via unanimous decision after a show-stopping performance. In the main event of the evening, Murzakanov put on a dominating show before knocking out Fakhreddine to become the first ever KHK World Champion.
