Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club hosts today biggest local meeting of the season

Three cups dedicated to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa are up for grabs today as Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) hosts the biggest race meeting of the local season.
Two of the HM the King’s Cups offer BD20,000 total prizes.
Both are to be contested over a 12-furlong distance.
The HM the King’s Cup in the sixth and main event is for imported horses, and it features a star-studded field of 11 entrants.
Among the pre-race favourites is Glen Force, representing owners Esnaad Racing and trainer Fawzi Nass, while saddled by Adrie De Vries. Desert Lion is also tipped with a chance for Al Mohamediya Racing, Fawzi Nass and David Egan; as is Rayounpour for Al Adiyat Racing, Allan Smith and legendary jockey Frankie Dettori.
Other top names in the field are Victorious horses What A Welcome, Vale De Sol, New Show and Jazeel, Across the Stars, Cartago, Litigator and Gold Wand.
In the day’s fifth race for another HM the King’s Cup, five locally bred horses are in the fray, with Sabreena, Al Tariq and Paco Man dubbed as the favourites.
Sabreen is competing for Victorious, Fawzi Nass and Husain Makki.
Al Tariq will be racing for KHK Racing, Hesham Al Haddad and Adrie De Vries; while Paco Man is representing Abdulla Fawzi Nass, Hesham Al Haddad and David Egan.
Aslaan and Dance Monkey are the two other competitors.
The third HM the King’s Cup of the day is in the first race, to be held over eight furlongs with a BD7,000 prize.
Three Victorious horses are in the line-up, namely Al Jellaby 1544, Kuheilan Afas 1708 and Tuwaisan 1762.
The other three are Al Wasmiya contenders, including Al Saqlawy 1564, Kuheilan Afas 1675 and Kuheilan Afas 1695.
Meanwhile, the three other races on the day also have cups to be won.
In race four, the Al Methaq Mile Cup will be held over an eight-furlong distance with a BD8,200 prize, and Byline, Coolagh Forest and Beauchamp Bagenal are tipped with a chance to win.
The Tattersalls Sprint Cup in the third race is over a five-furlong straight with a BD5,000 prize, while race two offers the Al Raffa Cup, and it will be held over an eight-furlong distance with a BD6,000 total prize.
