Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club to stage eight-race card today with seven cups to be won

Eight races are on the card today in an exciting action-packed meeting at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC). The feature event, a race for imported horses to be held over a distance of 10 furlongs, is for the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY) Cup. Thirteen horses are in the fray representing top owners such as Victorious and Al Mohamediya Racing, to name a few; while a number of hgh-profile jockeys will be saddling their contenders with the hopes of claiming a share of the BD5,000 total prize.

They include David Egan, Paddy Mathers, Husain Makki, Abdulla Faisal and Daisuke Fukumoto, among others. The seventh race of the day will be for the HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup.

It will be over nine furlongs with a BD2,000 prize, with four locally bred horses set to line up at the start. Paco Man, Newsbreaker and Alejandro have been tipped with a chance, while Campolina is the other horse set to line up.

Race six will be for the REHC Cup, and is over eight furlongs with a BD2,000 total prize. Fifteen imported horses are set to compete.

Race five is also for an REHC Cup. It is over a seven-furlong distance with a BD2,000 prize. Master Bambu, Jamais Assez and Happy Craf are the pre-race favourites, while 10 other horses are entered. Meanwhile, the day’s fourth and first races both have HH Shaikh Sultan bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cups up for grabs.

Race four is over a six-furlong straight and it offers a BD3,000 prize. Fourteen imported horses will have a go for the win. Race one will be held over a five-furlong straight while offering a BD2,000 prize.

Three of the 14 competing horses have been tipped to have a chance at the victory, including Kuheilan Umm Zorayr 1766, Krushan 1793 and Al Suwaity M671.

Race three today will be for the HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup, and it covers a six-furlong straight. Epic, Naahy and Kailara have been named the pre-race favourites amongst the seven-horse field. The second race of the day over a five-furlong straight includes five locally bred horses, and they will vie for a share of the BD2,000 prize.
