The Bahraini Handball Association (BHA) announced yesterday the return of Icelandic tactician Aron Kristjansson as head coach of the Kingdom’s senior men’s national handball team.
The BHA revealed that Kristjansson has officially signed his new contract. Under the deal, the 48-year-old will guide the national team in the upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games to be held this summer.
He will remain at the helm when Bahrain competes at the 2022 Asian championship, which also acts as the qualifying competition for the 2023 world championship.
Kristjansson is no stranger to Bahraini handball. He was responsible for steering the nationals to their historic first-ever berth in the men’s handball tournament at the Olympics. He has also been successful at the continental and global levels with Bahrain.
