Manama Club striker Mahdi Abduljabbar has won the coveted Golden Boot award for the 2020/2021 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League season. This is the first time Abdulabbar has clinched the title, showing his high-level of play throughout the campaign.
Abduljabbar was able to fire in 12 goals in Manama’s 18 matches to top all the league’s scorers. East Riffa’s Mohammed Al Rumaihi finished a close second after netting 11 goals this season.
He had a brilliant opportunity to tie Abduljabbar in East Riffa’s last match, where they lost 1-4 to Budaiya.
During that game, Al Rumaihi missed a penalty after hitting the right post. Mahdi Humaidan from league-and-cup champions Riffa finished third with nine goals to his name. Muharraq’s Ismaeel Abdullatif was fourth with six goals this campaign, while five others had five goals apiece.
