Yibir wins Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket

Godolphin Team has today won Bahrain Cup at the annual Newmarket horseracing festival in the United Kingdom.

Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club High Committee member His Highness Shaikh Sultan Eddine bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa attended the event.

Bahrain’s Ambassador to the UK Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa presented the trophy to the representative of Godolphin Team, in the presence of Charlie Appleby, trainer of the horse Yibir, which won the race. Prizes were also presented to the trainer and jockey who won the race.

The Bahrain Cup race, which was held for a distance of a mile and five furlongs, featured a number of horses of the third category from all over the world.  jockey James Doyle rode including "Yibir", the king of Godolphin Team,  to victory.

 The Bahrain Cup is one of the important annual races that the ancient Newmarket Racecourse has witnessed for 30 continuous years.

It reflects historical relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the friendly United Kingdom in various fields, especially in the field of equestrian and horse racing, embodied in the continuous cooperation in this field between Rashid Equestrian Club horse racing and the British Newmarket Club,
