11th BBK and Filipino Club Tennis Group underway

A total of 15 teams will battle it out for two divisional titles in the 11th Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) and Filipino Club Tennis Group (FCTG) 'Western Union' Team Tennis Tournament 2015 after they took part in the opening ceremony last Friday at the Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) courts at the University of Bahrain campus in Isa Town.
Attending the opening were special guests of honour from the Philippine Embassy, led by Charge d'Affaires Raquel Solano, who gave an inspirational message, along with Vice Consul Ricardo Aragon, Labour Attache Felixberta Romero and Welfare Officer Precy Flores. It was also attended by BBK Head of Strategic Alliances and Other Fees Khalid Al Khateb and Aladdin Abbassi from BBK Strategic Alliances and Other Fees.

Fuad Al Rowaie represented the BTF and on the occasion, FCTG Chairwoman Abby Pelagio welcomed all and introduced the new 2015 FCTG officers.
Singer Merle Cripps rendered a special song number, while the Philippine Dance Crew performed an electrifying dance number.
Lucky attendees won special raffle gift items from the sponsors and Michelle Pedro led all players to their oath of sportsmanship while Filipino Club President Gregg Esquivel gave closing remarks in the presence of FC Business Development Coordinator Ofelia Baptista.
Seven teams compete in Division I while Division II has eight where each is composed of 10 regular players and 2 reserves. Elimination
matches will run until June.
