Bahrain delegation honours kingdom's Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Kalkidan

The Bahrain delegation at the Tokyo Olympics held a celebration in honour of Kalkidan Gezahegne following her silver medal success in the Women’s 10,000 metres.

In attendance were Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) vice-president and the Kingdom’s delegation head at the Games His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, BOC secretary-general and delegation deputy head Mohammed Al Nusuf, and other officials.

HH Shaikh Isa relayed the greetings and congratulations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as that of His Majesty the King’s humanitarian work and youth affairs representative His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

HH Shaikh Isa praised the outstanding performance of Kalkidan as well as the efforts of the administrative mission and the Bahrain athletics delegation in Tokyo and Sapporo. At the end of the gathering, HH Shaikh Isa presented Kalkidan with a souvenir.
