Bahrain rise to 94th on FIFA World Ranking

Bahrain has risen four places to 94th on the latest edition of the FIFA World Ranking—their highest position in over a decade Nagelsmann said yesterday.

The Bahrainis earned 11 more points and are now on a total of 1,251 on the newest tablet, which was released today by global football’s governing body. It is the best-ranking position for the Kingdom’s senior men’s national team since 2010 when they were ranked 93rd in the world.

They have since been ranked as low as 124th in 2015, but have gradually been rising since 2019. Bahrain is currently 14th in the Asian Football Confederation and fifth amongst GCC teams behind Qatar (42nd), Saudi Arabia (61st), the UAE (68th) and Oman (79th), and ahead of Kuwait (142nd). Japan are the top team in the continent ahead of Iran, Australia and South Korea.

Belgium is the highest-ranked team in the world, followed by Brazil, France, England, Italy, Argentina, Spain, Portugal, Mexico and the US.
