A team of officials from Bahrain’s motorsport community will be travelling to Saudi Arabia this week to supervise the training of members of the Saudi team that will be hosting their first-ever Formula 1 Grand Prix in December of this year.

The F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is scheduled for December 3 to 5 along the streets of Jeddah.

Bahrain’s motorsport officials have assisted in the past a number of other first-time Grand Prix hosts, such as in Abu Dhabi, India and Azerbaijan, to name a few.

Bahrain Motor Federation (BMF) president Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa said that Bahrain will contribute all it can to help make the first race at Jeddah Street Circuit a success.

Shaikh Isa added that he is proud to see a third F1 race in the Middle East, and is certain that it will be a wonderful event.

He noted that the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix adds to the other major motorsport events already being hosted by the country, including Formula E and the world-famous Dakar Rally, which has promoted Saudi on the global motorsport map.

The Bahraini delegation will be led by BMF general manager Abdulaziz Al Thawadi.
