Bahraini Nawaf Mubarak takes podium place in Abu Dhabi Spartan race

Bahraini Nawaf Yousif Mubarak clinched a superb third place in the 40 to 44 age-category at the Spartan Mixed Race, held at Al Ghazal Golf Club in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
Mubarak, competing with Spartan Brothers team from Bahrain, completed the Sprint 5K in a time of 42 minutes 11 seconds to finish on the podium in his division.
He was an impressive 30th overall amongst the 140 participants from all over the world, both men and women, racing in the Sprint age groups.
There were over 1,000 competitors in all in the event, which also featured action in the Sprint elite and Sprint open classes.
This was the first Spartan race held in the UAE since the implementation of COVID-19 restrictions last year.
Mubarak and his Spartan Brothers teammates are now set to compete in another Spartan event in the UAE on November 5.
It will be held at Al Ain Zoo, and it will feature Sprint 5K and Super 10K Spartan races, as well as a Hurricane Heat 4HR endurance race.
