Victorious-owned horses claim double victory at REHC

Victorious-owned horses claimed a pair of victories yesterday at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, highlighted by Macaque clinching the Tylos Plastic Industries Cup in the day’s feature race.
Trained by Hesham Al Haddad and saddled by Hussain Makki, Macaque triumphed by a head’s length from runner-up Returnofthemac, owned by Al Mohamediya Racing, trained by Osama Hashim and ridden by Paddy Mathers. Bond’s Boy, also representing Al Mohamediya and Osama Hashim but ridden by Neil Callan, came third. The race was held over 10 furlongs for imported horses rated zero to 95 with a BD4,000 prize.
Meanwhile, Suspect Package secured the double for Victorious in the day’s fifth race, which was also for a Tylos Plastic Industries Cup. Suspect Package is trained by AM Smith and was ridden by Abdulrahim Jasim, winning by a nose in the eight-furlong, BD3,000 event for imported horses rated zero to 80.
The runner-up was San Dimas, owned and trained by Yousif Alboainain and saddled by Abdulla Faisal, while Haalick, owned by Al Asayel Racing, trained by Hareb Almalki and jockeyed by Ebrahim Nader, came third.
The other Tylos Plastic Industries Cups were won by Shaddad for Al Bastaki Racing, Salahuddin Albastaki and Marcelian Kolmarkaj in race four; Subutai for Al Mohamediya Racing, Abbas Al Mawali and Paddy Mathers for race three; and Ghaarah for Al Bastaki Racing, Salahuddin Albastaki and Marcelian Kolmarkaj in race two.
The day’s sixth race for the Late S Sharaf Al Alawi Cup was claimed by Alejandro, owned by Al Adiyat Racing, trained by AM Smith and jockeyed by Charles Bishop.
In the day’s first race for the Safra Cup, Al Riffa-owned Al Saqlawy 1772 took the victory for trainer Yousif Alboainain and saddled by Abdulla Faisal. Yesterday’s races were part of back-to-back days of action at REHC.
