Al Zayed wins Awali Golf Club stableford competition

Majed Al Zayed emerged victorious in the Santy Construction Stableford competition, held over the weekend at Awali Golf Club (AGC).

Al Zayed clinched first place with a blistering 43 points after 18 holes of play. Al Zayed put in a strong performance, doing particularly well on par threes.

He had a bogey on the eighth hole and parred the others, scoring heavily and getting points on all holes.

Al Zayed topped a list of 10 prize winners in the event.

Finishing as runner-up with 42 points was Steve Coleman.

He had a front nine with only one bogey, two birdies and an eagle on hole five, and then finished the back nine with a birdie on the 18th.

In third place was CV Murthy with 39 points, while fourth was John Sloey with 38 points.

Taking fifth was Salim Khalifa Masood, who was the best 37-point finisher with eagles on holes 15 and 18.

Sixth through ninth, respectively, also on 37 points apiece, were Hamad Fares Al Qutami, Roger James, Jeffrey Barrett and Charmaine Young.

Rounding off the prize winners in 10th place, with 36 points, beating six others on countback, was Andy Strizovic.

Following the play, the winners have presented their prizes in an awarding ceremony held at the clubhouse attended by Santy Construction managing director Ramesh Renganathan and AGC captain Susan Scott.
