Ecosystem lifts KFH Cup at REHC

Ecosystem lifted the Kuwait Finance House (KFH) Cup yesterday in the eighth and feature race at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Sakhir.
The MKAR Racing-owned victor, trained by Haider Ebrahim and ridden by George Wood, finished the seven-furlong, BD3,000 event for imported horses ahead of runner-up Al-Mukhtar Star, competing for Al Afoo Racing and Mohammed Saeed, while ridden by Hasan Al Saffar.
Haalick came third for owners Al Asayel Racing, trainer Hareb Almalki and jockey Marcelian Kolmarkaj. The race was one of three yesterday offering KFH Cups.
One other was in race six, held over 12 furlongs with a BD2,000 prize. Hold Sway stormed to the win for Ramadhan Stable and Jaber Ramadhan while jockeyed by Martin Seidl. Rua Augusta came second for the owner and trainer Jaffar Marzooq with Abdulla Faisal in the saddle, while Torbruk completed the top three for Al Mohamediya Racing, Hesham Al Haddad and Neil Callan.
The third KFH Cup in the fourth race was clinched by Sarayaat, who triumphed for owner HH Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, trainer James Naylor and jockey Paddy Mathers over a five-furlong straight for the lion’s share of the BD2,000 prize purse.
Tareekh came second for Rashed Racing, Yousif Alboainain and Ebrahim Nader, with Shu Taibah third for Abdulla Fawzi Nass, Hesham Al Haddad and David Egan. Also yesterday, Taufan triumphed in the day’s seventh race for HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, James Naylor and Abdulla Faisal. Epic won race five for Abdulla Fawzi Nass, Hesham Al Haddad and David Egan. Mughayer came second and Shawwash followed in third.
Mobaadel won race three for Al Mohamediya Racing, Hesham Al Haddad and Neil Callan. Broadway Street followed as the runner-up while Roosevelt’s Grit finished third.
