Bhaksi wins Airmech Stableford event at Awali Golf Club

Shuvendu Bhaksi emerged as the overall winner in the Airmech Stableford competition at Awali Golf Club (AGC).

Bhaksi secured first place on countback after scoring 42 points, tied with Rehman Tipu, who had to settle for the runner-up spot.

Tipu, however, was able to claim the best gross prize with four birdies on the front nine for a personal best and a 70-breaking round of 69.

In third place with 38 points was AGC Captain Susan Scott. Fourth on 37 points with a better back nine was Balbir Singh, who beat out three others with a similar score.

Fifth was Nathan Prince, while sixth came Rashed Ahmed Al Kaabi and seventh Rashed Fares Al Qutami, who carded an impressive five birdies.

Finishing eighth was Andy Strizovic on 36 points while rounding off the top 10 were Quinten Du Preez on 36 points and Rashed Saeed Al Kaabi with 35 points, beating five others on countback.

A total of 88 players took part in the competition to claim one of the 10 prizes available.

Following the play, the winners have presented their respective awards in a ceremony attended by Scott and Airmech representative Heath Moxham.
