BRAVE Combat Federation held its final card of 2021 this Saturday (Dec 18), in Belgrade, Serbia. In 9 fights, BRAVE CF 56 delivered memorable moments, including huge finishes and a handful of upsets.

In the main event of the evening, Rolando Dy managed to deny most of Slobodan Maksimovic’s takedown attempts, which were his main concerns beforehand. But the hometown hero proved he still had a few tricks up his sleeve and ended up being the superior striker. This was true especially in rounds 2 and 3, when “Limp” rocked the Filipino star and imposed his pace with vicious combinations.

At the end of 15 minutes, Maksimovic scored the biggest win of his professional career via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, and 29-28). In the co-main event of the evening, Mikhail Allakhverdian, who was called with a little bit more than week to replace the former Middleweight title challenger Chad Hanekom, pulled one of the biggest upsets of the night, if not the biggest.

Showing that he’s been in phenomenal form and ready for an opportunity such as this, Allakhverdian gave no chance to Miro Jurkovic and put on a dominant performance, worthy of a triple 30-27. In the rematch of one of the best BRAVE CF bouts of 2021, Ahmed Labban emerged victorious once again against Nemanja Kovac.

This time, though, “The Shadow” left no room for debate and stopped Kovac with a beautiful ninja choke in the second round. Two up and coming stars stood out during the prelims in Serbia. Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Al-Qahtani improved his record to 4-0 with a thirdround knockout against Nejc Preloznik and Bulgaria’s Nikolay Nikolov submitted Milos Cvetkovic in his promotional debut, also moving to a perfect 4-0 pro record.
