Gulf Games postponed due to Covid-19 concerns

The upcoming Gulf Games, set to be held next month in Kuwait, have been postponed to May of 2022.
This was decided during the 92nd executive board meeting of the heads of the Gulf Olympics committees, held in Bahrain at The Ritz-Carlton The multi-sport event was originally slated for January 9 to 19, but they will now take place from May 11 to 21.
The decision was made due to recent developments with the COVID-19 pandemic, and in order to preserve the health and wellbeing of the participating athletes, officials and all those involved.
Representing the Kingdom in the meeting was Bahrain Olympic Committee secretary-general Mohammed Al Nusuf.
It was chaired by Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee vice-president and secretary-general Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz.
Also at the meeting, various issues were discussed.
