Ahli take on Sitra-Bahrain Club winner in Khalifa bin Salman Cup quarters

Holders Al Ahli will meet the winner of the game between Sitra and Bahrain Club in the quarter-finals of the 2021/2022 Khalifa bin Salman Cup basketball tournament.

The draw for the competition was held last night at the Zain Basketball Arena in Um Al Hassam.

In attendance were officials from the Bahrain Basketball Association and representatives from the participating clubs.

The Sitra-Bahrain Club fixture is one of three games in the first round of the event.

The others see Samaheej take on Al Najma and Muharraq face Al Ettihad.

The winners of those two games will move on to face off in the round of eight.

On the same side of the bracket, Al Hala and Manama take each other on in the quarters.

On the opposite side of the bracket, Nuwaidrat and Isa Town play each other in another quarter-final game.

Ahli clinched the Khalifa bin Salman Cup the past two seasons and this time will be gunning for a “three-peat”.

They won last season’s crown after defeating Manama 96-81 in the tournament final.

With the result, Ahli secured a league-and-cup double for the second consecutive year.

They had also defeated Manama in last year’s league championship series, which they sealed with a two-game sweep.
