Al Mohamediya Racing, Neil Callan win three Al Salam Bank Cups

Al Mohamediya Racing and Irish jockey Neil Callan were among those to enjoy a series of hat-tricks yesterday at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Sakhir.
Al Mohamediya and Callan each won three of the four Al Salam Bank Cups up for grabs on the day’s thrilling, eight-race programme.
Trainer Hesham Al Haddad also enjoyed a hat-trick, with two of his wins coming with Al Mohamediya-owned, Callan-saddled contenders.
Competing with their horse Ahdab, the Al Mohamediya-Callan-Al Haddad triumvirate won the Al Salam Bank Cup in yesterday’s eighth and feature race, held over 10 furlongs with a BD3,000 prize.
Wait Forever was second for Al Hassanain Racing, Ali Jan and Abdulla Faisal, while Zezenia came third for MKAR Racing, Haider Ebrahim and Eoin Walsh.
Al Mohamediya-Callan-Al Haddad were then also the winners in race seven with Arctic Vega for another Al Salam Bank Cup.
Bataar came second for Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Osama Hashim and Jimmy Quinn, while Nigel was third for Victorious, AM Smith and Edinson Rodriguez.
The race was held over 14 furlongs with a BD3,000 prize.
In the day’s fifth race covering seven furlongs with a BD2,000 prize, Al Mohamediya and Callan won their third Al Salam Bank Cup with Yuan Prince, an Osama Hashim-trained horse.
Fifth Fleet was second for MKAR Racing, Haider Ebrahim and George Wood, while Jamais Assez came third for Al Mallah Syndicate, Abduljaleel Al Mallah and Marvin Grandin.
The fourth Al Salam Bank Cup for the day was in race two. Muzahem won the eight-furlong, BD2,000 event for HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, Haider Ebrahim and Eoin Walsh.
Lahoug came second for Rashed Racing, Yousif Alboainain and Ebrahim Nader, while Sinjar was third for Al Nuwayef Racing, Abdulla Kuwaiti and David Egan.
In the sixth race of the day, Al Haddad completed his hat-trick with winner Thahaby, saddled by Marcialis Jaures for owner Abdulla Fawzi Nass. Tall Order came second for Al Mallah Syndicate, Abduljaleel Al Mallah and Marvin Grandin, while Wild Hero was third for HBR Racing, Hareb Almalki and Abdulla Faisal.
Race four was claimed by Aslaan for Al Mallah Syndicate, Abduljaleel Al Mallah and Marvin Grandin.
Cutlass came second and Henry the Horse third.
In race three, Mishaweer was the winner for HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, Haider Ebrahim and Abdulla Faisal.
Aldurah was the runner-up and Batmobile third.
In race one, Krushan 1793 took first place for Al Roudha, Hussain Aldailami and Ebrahim Nader.
Al Hamdany 1810 was second and Al Jellabieh 1752 third.
