Paris FC, representing Victorious Bahrain in Ligue 2, announced yesterday the arrival of Khalid Boutaib. Coming from Le Havre, the Moroccan international striker signed on Monday for a period of one-and-a-half years with the club of the capital.
Boutaib has played 96 games to date in Ligue 2, 31 games in Ligue 1 and scored 36 goals in these two competitions. With a solid experience of the high level, the Morocco national team player has 20 caps and eight goals.
He discovered the professional world late at 27 years old, with Gazélec Ajaccio with whom he participated in the historic rise of the Corsican club. In 2016, he joined Thierry Laurey, whom he had known at Ajaccio, and the Racing Club de Strasbourg.
The 34-year-old striker is one of the major architects of the rise of the Alsatian club in Ligue 1 in 2017. After his success in France, Boutaib moved to Turkey to Yeni Malatyaspor for two seasons (51 games, 17 goals) and then to Zamalek SC in Egypt.
In the summer of 2020, the Franco-Moroccan found Le Havre in Ligue 2. Author of five goals this season, Boutaib brings all his experience to Paris FC where he will wear the number 13.
He said: “Paris FC has positioned itself and its high objectives have attracted me. It’s a great opportunity. The fact that I know Thierry Laurey and Fabien Lefevre reinforced my idea, I know what I’m getting into. A third rise, and moreover with coach Laurey, it would be an incredible story!”
