A battle between a former World Champion and a surging top contender will get a share of the spotlight during the BRAVE International Combat Week this coming March, and the winner will walk away with gold around his waist.
French superstar Amin “Fierceness” Ayoub will square off against Kyrgyz powerhouse Abdisalam “Omok” Kubanychbek for the BRAVE CF Interim Lightweight World Championship as part of the three main attractions of the much-awaited BRAVE CF 57, which broadcasts live from the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain on March 11.
The match-up was made possible due to a serious injury by the current lineal champion Ahmed Amir, who is out indefinitely and will not be able to defend his belt at BRAVE CF 57. Ayoub—the former BRAVECF Lightweight World Champion—is a highly-skilled mixed martial artist with a solid set of striking and grappling techniques, amassing a professional record of 16-5 During his reign as champion, the Frenchman was rarely opposed inside the cage, using his two fists to inflict damage in the stand-up exchanges, as well as pose a constant threat of submissions on the mat.
Ayoub is on the comeback trail to regain his belt, but first, he’ll have to get past the talented Kubanychbek—who has been unopposed since the Kyrgyz made his successful promotional debut in 2019. Kubanychbek is currently riding high on a four-fight winning streak, which includes a scintillating stoppage victory over Filipino veteran Rolando “The Incredible” Dy in March 2021.
Also slated for BRAVE CF 57 is the encounter for the available BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Championship, pitting hometown hero Hamza Kooheji opposite Canadian standout Brad “Superman” Katona.
Meanwhile, Middleweight champion Mohammad “The Latest” Fakhreddine of Lebanon and Mohamed “ L’Ambiance” Said Maalem of Algeria will meet again for the vacant BRAVE CF Light Heavyweight World Championship in the co-main event.
