Bahrain International Circuit launches tickets for F1 pre-season tests

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) yesterday launched tickets for 2022 Formula 1 pre-season testing, scheduled to take place between 10 and 12 March at the world-class Sakhir race track.
With spectators permitted entry for the last two days of testing, it will be the first opportunity for fans to witness in person the new generation of F1 cars on track.
BIC announced that all those who have bought tickets for this year’s Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix before 1 March will be granted free access to the pre-season tests.
Fans with tickets bought before this date can use their electronic or printed F1 tickets to gain entry into testing and do not need to register in advance.
For those without F1 tickets, tickets to testing are now available to purchase online at bahraingp.com.
Tickets are priced at BD5 per day for adults and BD2.5bd for children.
F1’s famous Paddock Club hospitality will also be available for the last two days of testing and those interested should email corporate@bic.com.bh or visit our website for more details.
Public access for fans will be on Friday, 11 March 2022 and Saturday, 12 March with gates open from midday to 7 pm on each day.
Please note that the first day of testing will not be open to the public.
The upcoming tests will mark the second successive year that F1 will be holding pre-season running in Bahrain.
Last year, the top flight-tested in Sakhir, as well as in 2019, 2017 and 2014.
Bahrain is an ideal location for the pre-season sessions, which usually take place during the European winter.
The weather here at this period allows for maximum track time, giving the F1 teams and drivers greater opportunity to sample their cars before the start of the F1 season.
In addition to F1 testing, BIC is also set to host the pre-season tests for the FIA Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3 championships.
These will take place from March 2 to 4, a week before F1.
F2 and F3 will both be holding the first rounds of their 2022 campaigns in support of this year’s F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
The race weekend is set to be a historic occasion for the sport, as it ushers in “A New Era” in F1 following the biggest shake-up in rules and regulations in the top flight.
