The Pride of Bahrain Hamza Kooheji has been vocal and adamant about promoting sports in Bahrain and raising awareness about the importance of pursuing a healthy lifestyle to the youth. Most recently, Kooheji appeared on Bahrain Sports TV segment covering the Sports Day festivities at Bahrain International Circuit organized by Bahrain Sports For All Association.
The Pride of Bahrain touched on the importance of taking part in these activities for those involved and uninvolved in sports in the Kingdom. “I hope everyone comes and motivates themselves on sports, especially those who don’t practice sports,” Kooheji said. “[The community] should come to support these activities because sports aren’t just good physically, they are good for you mentally, and good for the community.”
Kooheji continued to touch on the benefits of practising sports and shared a personal anecdote to encourage people to attend and support the blooming sports scene in Bahrain. “There’s so many benefits,” Kooheji said. “How you take of yourself changes when you start practising sports.
I hope everyone comes, it’s a good event. My friends weren’t going to come but now they’re happy they did. So I hope everyone comes, and I hope everyone comes to my fight as well.” Kooheji will be fighting for the BRAVE CF vacant Bantamweight World Championship title against SBG Ireland’s Brad Katona at BRAVE CF 57 held in the Kingdom of Bahrain on March 11 at Khalifa Sports City. The event will be part of BRAVE International Combat Week which will also encompass the first edition of MMA Super Cup, the largest amateur mixed martial arts tournament in the history of the sport.
