Abdulqader wins eighth round of showjumping

HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation, and in the presence of HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority, has crowned Mahmood Abdulqader as the winner of the grand prize of the 8th showjumping round, held in Al Raffa, Sakhir.
HH Shaikh Isa praised the great level that the showjumping sport has reached in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the athletes’ displays. He underlined that the BREEF’s Board of Directors, and in coordination with the Showjumping Committee at the Federation are keen to follow all the competitions and work towards developing them.
HH Shaikh Isa pointed out that the showjumping sport enjoys enormous Royal support and has the interest and constant follow-up of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Honorary President of BREEF as well as HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
It’s worth noting Abdulqader completed the main contest of the round in 65.50 seconds after making five faults to claim the grand prize. He was followed by Hussain Dadallah of the Ministry of Interior who posted a time of 65.74 seconds with six faults, while in third place came the latter’s teammate Haytham Al Bastaki who clocked 72.47 seconds with 8 faults.
The event included 140cm hurdles. In other results, Mayoof Al Rumaihi of the Ministry of Interior won the third competition of the round which included 110cm hurdles, while veteran showjumper Sami Ghazwan bagged the title of the fourth contest.
Al Rumaihi finished the event in 38.50 seconds, and Ghazwan posted a time of 54.81 seconds in the competition which featured 120cm hurdles. Meanwhile, Haytham Al Bastaki achieved first place in the Joker competition, in which the participants had to jump over 130cm hurdles.
