Red hot Nadia scores 772 in HH Shaikh Khalid bowling

A red hot Nadia Al Awadhi scored a superb high series on the seventh day of qualifying in the His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa First Bowling Championship, being played at Funland Centre.
Nadia posted a scintillating score of 772 pins to claim the daily prize. It was the first time any bowler in the competition across all three divisions scored over 700 pins.
The Bahrain women’s national team star’s trial, minus handicap, added to her two other top scores of 553 and 553 to bring her total to 1,857 for a 206.33 average.
She now owns a big lead on the women’s division standings. Reem Sultan followed with a 1,003 total and 111.44 average, while Nahla Al Adaas of Saudi Arabia followed in third with a 993 total and 110.33 average.
Meanwhile, Ali Al-Mas rose to third on the men’s standings after playing a 676 series to add to his 695 and 621 trials.
He improved to a 1,992 total for a 221.33 average, and now trails only leader Emerson Gotencio (2,039, 226.56) from the Philippines and Ahmed Fareed (2,026, 225.11).
In the senior's division, Yousif Al Ali continued to lead with marks of 2,006 and 222.89.
Dante Tisdom from the US stayed second with a 1,895 total and 210.56 average, whereas Mohammed Al Shawoosh was still third but raised his total to 1,851 for a 205.67 average.
Qualifying continues today at the same venue. Bowlers in this stage must play at least three trials to be eligible to advance to the next round, with each participant’s top three series being counted.
