Games enhance Bahrain’s position as leading sports destination: HH Shaikh Khalid

On the occasion of the opening of the third edition of the West Asia Para Games, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and Chief of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), said that such events cement the Kingdom’s status as a leading host of major international sporting destination. “We are very pleased to launch the games of the third edition of the West Asia Para Games,” HH Shaikh Khalid said.
“We express our great pride that the Kingdom of Bahrain is the host of the games of this tournament, which includes the wide participation of athletes. Moreover, this event confirms the great supporting efforts to enhance the Kingdom’s position as a leading destination for hosting various sports tournaments and forums, and it bolsters the Kingdom’s position on the continental and international sports map.”
HH Shaikh Khalid continued: “The hosting of this tournament is a real extension of the success achieved by the Kingdom of Bahrain during its hosting of the 2021 Asian Youth Para Games, which reassures Bahrain’s readiness at the logistical and organisational levels and contributes to the Kingdom being an ideal destination to host various sports tournaments.
“Moreover, it enhanced the trend in supporting sports tourism to attract valuable investments in the sports field.” HH Shaikh Khalid expressed his hope that the tournament achieves the desired success, and he wished the best of success to the participating teams.
