Gulf University clinches Universities Football League title

Gulf University triumphed after a thrilling 4-2 win over Ahliya University in the final game of the 2021/2022 Universities Football League, which was attended by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, held at the late Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The event was held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).
The final game was attended by a large number of officials, including HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the GSA, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of BOC, Dr Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the GSA, HE Mr Fares Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary-General of BOC and HE Dr Shaikh Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Schools and Universities Federation.
On this occasion, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa has congratulated the Chairman and the Board Members of Gulf University on their victory, praising the performances of their team throughout the competition.
HH Shaikh Khalid also lauded the efforts exerted by the Bahrain Schools and Universities Federation under the presidency of Dr Shaikh Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa towards organising the event, stating that the huge success achieved embodies the prominent role of the Federation in executing the support programmes that aim to promote the school and university sport.
From his side, Dr Shaikh Saqer expressed gratitude to HH Shaikh Khalid for patronising the final game, stating that His Highness’ sponsorship represented a great motivation for the players to give their all.
