Muharraq edge past Najma

Muharraq defeated Al Najma 97-90 last night in their Top Six division clash in the 2021/2022 Zain Bahrain Basketball League. Muharraq used a strong second-quarter showing to take control of the game and they did well to hold on until the final whistle.
Najma stayed within striking distance throughout, but Muharraq came away with the big plays in the clutch. With the result, Muharraq claimed their first win after two tries in the Top Six. Najma were handed their fourth loss to go with one win.
Bader Abdulla Malabes top-scored for the victors yesterday, finishing with 25 points on efficient nine-for-16 shooting. Mahmood Abbas Isa added 21 off the bench, while Serbian professional Boris Savovic chipped in with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
For Najma, Canadian import Shane Osayande had 28 points and 19 rebounds to lead his team in the loss. Ali Jassim contributed 20 and Mohammed Buallay had 18. Top Six action continues tonight with Al Ahli playing Manama in a titanic match-up at 5.30 pm, followed by Bahrain Club taking on Al Hala at 7.30 pm.
