The Pride of Bahrain Hamza Kooheji has been instrumental in the wave of mixed martial arts in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the boom the industry witnessed over the last decade.
As he gears up to make history for the Kingdom as the first-ever Bahraini World Championship Title contender, Kooheji is receiving the support of the Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji.
Al-Kooheji touches on The Pride of Bahrain’s impact on sports in the Kingdom and the roadmap he developed to ensure the success of future generations. “Hamza Kooheji is a fighter who practices martial arts and he’s the best fighter in the Middle East in the Bantamweight division,” says Al-Kooheji.
“We consider him the Pride of Bahrain, not because he’s the best athlete, but because he paved the road for the future generations and showed them that an individual can create a career out of mixed martial arts.”
Al-Kooheji continues by comparing Hamza to the foundation of a building - being the foundation for the new generation of athletes in the Kingdom. “In the future, we will have athletes, Bahraini citizens, who are better than Hamza but similar to having a building, the 10th floor is sometimes better than the 1st but without the primary structure, the foundation, you wouldn’t have the 10ths floor.”
He concludes by sending his best regards to Hamza Kooheji and the Bahraini National MMA Team competing at MMA Super Cup, the largest amateur tournament in the history of the sport, also taking place in the Kingdom of Bahrain this March. Hamza Kooheji will be competing against Brad “Superman” Katona at BRAVE CF 57 on March 11th at Khalifa Sports City in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event will be open to the public with tickets on sale at Wanasatime. com.
