Formula 1 fans need not wait much longer as the countdown to the historic F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2022 is headed for the home stretch, with only 10 days remaining from today for the sporting and social spectacle everybody is waiting for.
Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) will be the place to be when racing’s biggest superstars gather for a once-in-a-generation event, and the Kingdom has the privilege of being the first in the world to host the pinnacle of motorsport like it has never been seen before.
This year’s Bahrain Grand Prix will be the opening round of the 2022 FIA F1 World Championship, and it will usher in “A New Era” in the top flight from 18 to 20 March at “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” in Sakhir.
F1 Aramco Pre-Season Testing 2022 all set for later this week The F1 community is already busy gearing up for the new campaign, and they will be giving Bahrain’s fans a sneak preview of what’s to come at the Grand Prix weekend when F1 Aramco Pre-Season Testing 2022 takes place later this week at BIC from Thursday to Saturday.
The tests will be the last chance for F1’s teams and drivers to run their cars on track before the start of their championship battle.
Their equipment has already arrived at the circuit and their garages are beginning to be set up. BIC will be opening its doors to the public on Friday and Saturday.
Tickets to both the Bahrain Grand Prix and pre-season testing are now available on bahraingp.com or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17450000.
All those who had purchased their tickets to the Grand Prix before 1 March have free access to the tests.
For those without F1 tickets bought before 1 March, tickets to pre-season testing are still available online and through the BIC Hotline at BD5 per day for adults and BD2.5 for children.
F1’s famous Paddock Club hospitality can also be enjoyed, with its exceptional cuisine and the best view in the house on the last two days of testing.
Those interested should e-mail corporate@ bic.com.bh or visit the BIC website for more details.
Paddock Club pass holders will also have the chance to take part in a Pit Lane Walk and Truck Tour on the two open days.
Race-goers to enjoy packed programme at F1 weekend A packed programme of racing has been lined up throughout the Grand Prix weekend, with three highly competitive series supporting F1, namely the FIA Formula 2 Championship, the FIA Formula 3 Championship and the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East.
F2 and F3 are the leading junior categories that help prepare F1 aspirants for the climb up the motorsport ladder, while the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East is the most competitive one-make motor racing series in the entire region. T
o complement the racing, BIC has also put together a spectacular offtrack entertainment programme for the whole family.
This will be highlighted by the back-to-back concerts on the Friday night of the event, 18 March, when globally renowned DJs Don Diablo and Afrojack take to the stage for separate live performances.
All F1 ticketholders will also have the opportunity to get right in the action with F1 teams at a Pit Lane Walk on the Thursday evening of race week, 17 March, at 6pm.
Those attending will be able to experience the F1 Pit Lane and see the top flight’s teams hard at work in their garages as they prepare for all the action of the Grand Prix weekend.
Fans will be able to take pictures and, if lucky, spot one of their favourite F1 drivers in their garage, working with their engineers and mechanics.
All those with tickets to this year’s F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix will be able to access Thursday’s Pit Walk at no extra cost.
