MMA Super Cup advances sport globally: HH Shaikh Khalid

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and Chief at the Bahrain Olympic Committee, praised the level of competition in the first-ever Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Super Cup, being held as part of BRAVE International Combat Week in Bahrain.

HH Shaikh Khalid attended the opening round of fights in the MMA Super Cup at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town.

HH Shaikh Khalid stressed that the performances delivered by the fighters reflect their strong preparations ahead of the championship.

HH Shaikh Khalid added that the event carries high value and is a great addition to the competitions organised by the International MMA Federation (IMMAF), stressing that it will contribute to advancing the MMA sport globally.

HH Shaikh Khalid wished the participants the best of luck.

The MMA Super Cup is being held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid and organised by the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF) in cooperation with the IMMAF and the KHK SPORTS.

BRAVE International Combat Week also features BRAVE CF 57, which takes place tonight headlined by the BRAVE CF World Bantamweight title fight between Hamza “The Pride of Bahrain” Kooheji and Brad “Superman” Katona.

Meanwhile, Minister of Youth and Sports Aymen bin Tawfiq Almoayed affirmed that the vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, has made Bahrain a preferred destination for holding various sports events and activities due to the Kingdom’s distinguished elements as well as modern sports infrastructure.

He pointed out that the interest of HH Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa to organise this prestigious event has put the Kingdom at the centre of the world’s attention.
