Leading businessman and chairman of Promoseven Holdings Akram Miknas has stated that the Bahrain International Circuit’s announcement that tickets for the Paddock Club and the 34 corporate guest rooms have sold out, proves Bahrain’s success in organizing the Formula 1 this year.
“This demonstrates the economic viability of hosting the Formula 1 race; there is no doubt about the significance of this project, which was launched years ago in Bahrain by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as Formula 1’s contribution to strengthening the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position on regionally and globally,” Miknas said.
Miknas said he believed that the unprecedented level of public participation in the Formula 1 race from both inside and outside Bahrain implies that recovery from the pandemic has become a reality and that the most difficult part is now behind us. “We must now redouble our efforts to make up for what we missed during the pandemic and organise more events and initiatives that contribute to the progress of the tourism sector and the national economy.” “I have witnessed the Formula 1 race since its inception in Bahrain, and while it was undoubtedly a difficult start, it has since grown in popularity among most people. In addition, my participation in the Formula 1 race extends beyond mere attendance by displaying some of the collection of my unique cars at the Bahrain International Circuit during race days,” Miknas added.
Miknas also stated that several tourism operators assured him of their intention to effectively support the Formula 1 race by preparing the tourist facilities they own, such as restaurants, cafes, hotels, and others, to receive regional and international tourists who are expected to visit Bahrain during Formula 1, as well as to organise many attractive entertainment activities for them.
“The Formula 1 tourist is not coming to watch the race and cheer on the Ferrari or Mercedes team before returning to his/her hotel; instead, he/she is looking for an integrated entertainment tourism programme and has planned a list of monuments, places of entertainment, restaurants, and nightlife spots that he will visit. “He/she is an elite tourist who typically has a large ability to spend and travels from one country to another to follow the race and enjoy the accompanying activities, and these quality tourists become ambassadors to convey on social media Bahrain’s social and economic openness, security, and stability to millions of followers around the world.”
