Nasser bin Hamad Endurance Cup begins

Under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Honourary President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation, the Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa International Endurance Championship kicked off yesterday at Bahrain Endurance Village, featuring wide participation.

The event includes various races, including the 40km, 80km and 100km qualifying races which took place yesterday. On this occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed utmost pride and gratitude at the broad participation in the qualifiers, stating that this confirms delivering many objectives via paving the way for the entry of many young faces to the endurance sport as per the vision of BREEF under the presidency of HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

Moreover, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed that BREEF is heading towards reinforcing and developing the endurance sport in Bahrain, explaining that the current season is witnessing continued success through the organisation of various races that witnessed broad participation.

Furthermore, HH Shaikh Nasser predicted the main race to feature high speeds and stiff and open competition among the participating stables. HH Shaikh Nasser wished all the participants good luck.

Race

The main race of the event, covering a distance of 120km, will take place today. The race will be aired live on Bahrain Sports Channel and an analytical studio will be accompanying the coverage.

Ascon joins as a sponsor

On the other hand, Ascon company has joined as a sponsor to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa International Endurance Race. Commenting on this, HH Shaikh Isa thanked the company for backing the prestigious race, adding that the company’s initiative bolsters its position as a partner in the success of the endurance sports in Bahrain.

Results

It is worth noting that Aseela Eiad Al Ruwaie has led the 100km qualifying race after clocking 5:03:35, while Yasmeen Khalid Haji finished first in the 80km qualifying race.
