Verstappen strong candidate for Bahrain GP: Shaikh Fawaz

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who set the fastest lap during the second practice, is one of the strong candidates to lift the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2022, said Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Ambassador of Bahrain to the United Kingdom.
Ferrari, Shaikh Fawaz said, put up a remarkable performance during qualifying, and the Mercedes suffered stability issues.
“We do not know whether it is a tactic to surprise the teams in the race or not,” he told Al Ayam.
Shaikh Fawaz said this during a visit to the Bahrain International Circuit yesterday.
The Ambassador stressed that the successes achieved by the Kingdom in organising Formula One races over the past 17 years, all the way to the 18th edition, showcases the distinct capabilities of the Kingdom.
