Bahrain’s senior men’s national volleyball team have been drawn in a challenging group for the 2022 AVC Cup for Men. The nationals are making their debut in the competition, which is being organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC). It will be held in Taipei between August 7 and 14. The Bahrainis have been drawn with the home team along with Thailand in Pool A for the tournament’s preliminary round. Bahrain are one of a total of 12 teams who have confirmed their participation in the eight day event.

Iran, Korea and New Zealand are in Pool B, with Pool C consisting of Japan, Pakistan and Kazakhstan. Pool D comprises title-holders Qatar, Australia and Hong Kong. Bahrain will be opening their tournament campaign on August 8 when they face off with the Thais, and then play their second and only other contest in the preliminaries against Taipei. After successfully organising the 2018 edition, Taipei remains the battle ground for the event. The AVC Cup for Men is a separate competition from the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship, which is also organised by AVC.
