The Physical Strength competition was launched on Wednesday as part of the events of the 2022 Strength Week, being held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Organised by KHK Sports in collaboration with Bahrain Weightlifting Federation (BWF) from March 21-26 in the square adjacent to Avenues Mall, the event is part of His Highness’ sports initiatives.

Commenting on this, Ishaq Ibrahim Ishaq, the BWF President, praised the distinguished efforts made by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to enhance the Kingdom’s standing in international sports arenas through the launch of initiatives that boost athletics and enhance Bahrain’s position as a destination to host and organise various competitions.

He also praised His Highness’ initiatives which seek to elevate sports by developing athletes and motivating them to unleash their talent and potential, through which national teams can be formed to represent and honour the Kingdom in international arenas.

The President confirmed that the federation is proud to renew its partnership with HKH Sport to organise the 2022 Strength Week after last year’s success amid the exceptional circumstances imposed by the pandemic.

The Federation has expended all efforts in supporting the Organising Committee for the success of the event this year, in the respective Cross Fit, Weightlifting and Powerlifting championships this edition, he stressed.

Meanwhile, the Organising Committee affirmed its keenness to implement His Highness’ directives to achieve the highest rates of success in this event in a manner reflecting His Highness’ aspirations, stressing its endeavours to create the ideal atmosphere for the contestants to perform their best.
