HH Shaikh Salman receives ARISF President Raffaele Chiuli and WAKO President Roy Baker in Bahrain

His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority and Chairman of the Bahrain Council for Combat Sports, received Raffaele Chiuli President of Association of IOC Recognised International Sport Federations (ARISF) and President of the Union Internationale Motonautique, along with Roy Baker, President of the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO).
The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdul Rahman Sadeq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority (GSA), Ahmed Khalid Al Wazzan, President of the Bahrain Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, and Mohammed Shahid, advisor to His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa the president of Bahrain Olympic Committee and CEO of KHK Sports.
His Highness Shaikh Salman welcomed the guests and conveyed to them the greetings of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and His Highness’ wishes for their continued success.
His Highness Shaikh Salman also praised the efforts made by WAKO in supporting members to develop the sport of kickboxing internationally. Additionally, His Highness discussed ways of cooperation and coordination to advance the sport of kickboxing nationally in Bahrain with Baker in order to achieve the goals that contribute to the formation of national teams and teams capable of honourable representation and achievement of sport in the Kingdom.
For their part, Raffaele Chiuli, the President of ARISF, and Roy Baker, the President of WAKO expressed their happiness with the great development witnessed by sports in general in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Kingdom’s efforts in hosting many major sporting events and championships. They also praised the support of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to sports and athletes and his continuous efforts to advance sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Chiuli and Baker also praised the diligent follow-up of His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, which confirms that Bahrain is moving in the right direction towards raising the level of these sports and pushing them to achieve more successes, noting that the international federation is happy to cooperate with Bahrain’s Kickboxing and Muay Thai Federation in order to achieve the goals and contribute to the progress of the sport and the level and performance of its affiliates, including administrators, technicians and athletes, wishing all success to Bahraini kickboxing.
