Al Khaldiya and Al Hala played to an exciting 3-3 draw last night in the 2021/2022 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League.
The match was originally postponed from its earlier date, and it was played at Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town. After taking an early lead in the contest, Khaldiya fell behind twice but were able to level the proceedings each time to come away with a share of the points.
On target for Khaldiya were Venezluen professional Gelmin Javier Rivas and Bahrain internationals Mahdi Humaidan and Ismaeel Abdullatif.
For Hala, scoring their goals were Brazilian Joel Vinicius Silva Dos Anhos and the Syrian pair of Isra Amer and Ahmad Aldouni. Khaldiya came away with their fourth draw in 14 matches as they improved to 25 points for fourth place on the league standings.
Hala took their sixth draw and went to 15 points in sixth position. Rivas opened the scoring for Khaldiya in the eighth minute after receiving a brilliant through pass that allowed him to go one-on-one with the Hala goalkeeper, who he rounded for an easy shot from close range into an empty net.
Hala, however, were able to equalise 10 minutes later through Dos Anhos. He tapped in a rebound following a save from Khaldiya goalkeeper Sayed Shubbar Alawi. Amer then put Hala in front five minutes from the half-time whistle with a header off a right corner-kick.
That was enough to give his team the lead heading into the interval. After the break, Khaldiya were able to level things once more through Humaidan, who took advantage of an uncleared pass in the box and fired home in the face of goal. He scored in the 62nd minute. Aldouni then put Hala ahead once more with a lucky goal that was deflected into the net in the 67th minute.
