Manama set up a mouth-watering title clash with Muharraq in the 2021/2022 Zain Bahrain Basketball League last night following a thrilling 101-96 victory over Al Hala in the third and decisive game of their best-of-three Golden Square semi-finals series.
Manama were in control for most of the contest and had leads as big as 17 in the second half. But Hala fought back brilliantly in the fourth quarter and even made it a one-point game with under a minute to go, giving their rivals a scare. In the end, Manama were able to convert down the stretch and Hala could not.
With the result, Manama completed a two-game comeback in their final four meeting with Hala, after losing the first game by a narrow margin. Manama now move on to face off with Muharraq in the league finals, which have yet to be scheduled by the Bahrain Basketball Association.
Muharraq booked their berth on Thursday night following a stunning upset win over back-to-back champions Al Ahli. Davion Berry scored for Manama yesterday with 30 points while Devin Ebanks added 24 and Mohammed Hussain 12. For Hala, Brian Halums had a monster 45-point effort, while Anthony McClain chipped in with 18.
