Dar Kulaib captured the bronze medals for the 2021/2022 season in the Isa bin Rashid Bahrain First Division Volleyball League. Dar Kulaib claimed their topthree finish following a thrilling five-set victory over Al Najma in their one-off game for third place, held at the Isa bin Rashid Volleyball Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa.

After winning the first set, Dar Kulaib fell behind in the contest with Najma taking sets two and three. But the victors were able to bounce back in the fourth and force the tie-break, where they eventually eked out the narrow win with a 3-2 (25- 18, 22-25, 22-25, 25-19, 15-11) score line.

With the victory, Dar Kulaib were able to win the league’s bronze medals for the second successive season. They had previously narrowly lost the opportunity to battle for the league title after losing to defending champions Al Ahli in the semi-finals. Najma also lost in the final four, where they succumbed to Al Nasser. Meanwhile, the championship series between Ahli and Nasser continues tonight with game two of their best-of-three clash.

The game is scheduled for a 9.30pm start at the same venue. Ahli will be looking to secure their second successive league title with a win this evening, while Nasser will be hoping to extend the series to a third game, which will be played on Saturday, if needed. Following the match for third place, Dar Kulaib were awarded their bronze medals in a presentation ceremony attended by officials from the Bahrain Volleyball Association.
